Repurposing Plastics

Farther up the Rio Grande in Taos, the city stopped recycling plastic. A group of residents, headed up by TiLT, took this as an opportunity to be innovative and started a pilot project to built an 8 x 10 structure using discarded plastic. View TiLTs Plastic Shed.

BERNALILLO
The county and Water Utility Authority has the FY2022-2031 Decade Plan posted.

VALENCIA
Valencia County Water Watchers desperately needs help now. Niagra bottled water is back wanting to take 3X more water out of mid Rio Grande basin aquifer.

SANDOVAL
A pump is being used for the irrigation ditches awaiting repair of the siphon which may take two years.

SOCORRO
Save Our Bosque in Socorro County has worked on river issues since 1994. A storm water holding pond is funded. Planning is underway for the Festival of Cranes on the December 8-10 weekend.

The Great River This book by Paul Horgan traces the history of four civilizations living along the river. It received the Pulitzer Prize in history. Horgan lived in NM for a large part of his life

Drawdown
A group of 56 global climate experts describe 100 scenerios that could cut down carbon emissions and sequester carbon and rate them as to overall effectiveness and cost. The sceneios are 2-3 pages long with photos.

A very practical book on gardening in the mid Rio Grande written by gardeners in conjunction with the Extension Services.
